How billing works

The rate below is charged per minute of speech, once for each target language in the room. A 30-minute call translated into one language costs the rate × 30. Translated into three languages, it costs the rate × 30 × 3.

Only the person speaking is billed — listening is free.

Questions

  • Do listeners pay?

No. Only the person speaking consumes credit, and only while they speak. Joining, listening and reading subtitles are free.

  • Why is the rate multiplied by the number of languages?

Each target language opens its own live translation stream on the provider, so a room with three languages does three times the work. You always see the multiplier before the call starts.

  • Do I need a subscription?

No. Credits are pay-as-you-go and do not expire monthly. Business and Enterprise plans exist for teams that want shared credits and administration, not because per-minute use requires them.

  • What does the free starter credit include?

Every new account gets $2 of credit, usable on any engine. On Standard that is several hours of translated speech.

  • Can I use it inside Google Meet or Zoom?

Yes. The VoxTranslate browser extension translates the audio playing in your tab, which covers Meet and Zoom on the web, alongside the built-in VoxTranslate call and webinar rooms.
